Carly Sadler & Reece Parker

Care Co-ordinator & Complex Care Lead

We joined Hanslope Care together with a family member that we were supporting with Multiple Sclerosis in 2019. Our family member was fully funded by the NHS and required double handed support four times a day. Mr B is bedbound, requires a ceiling hoist for transfers, wears a convene, has fragile skin and other co-morbidities and complex needs.

Our care provider at that time couldn’t cover our rest days or annual leave and we needed an agency that would support us, pay us a fair salary, and give us time off whilst also supplying the same standard of support to Mr B in our absence. We called Janine Moore and after assessment and interview we joined the Hanslope Care family and have not looked back.

Between then and now Mr B has become a much-loved client amongst the staff and our own roles within the company have changed considerably as Janine recognised our untapped potential and quickly incorporated us into the growing infrastructure of Hanslope Care.

Carly is now fully responsible for initial assessments and will meet potential clients and their families to discuss needs and wishes. Carly also produces the risk assessments and care plans that form the backbone of the service. These documents are essential for funded clients as they provide the evidence upon which claims are made. Carly also co-leads complex care with Reece who specialises in managing the complex care packages.

Carly enjoys setting up new care packages as well as building and maintaining relationships with long standing clients and their families. Carly has achieved her NVQ 3 and is working towards her level 4 which has deepened her knowledge of leadership and care planning as well as her understanding of complex needs. Carly’s favourite part of the role is feeling that she is supported by a tight-knit and friendly team who will always put the interests of our clients first. She also likes making sure her clients feel and look their best.

Janine has continued to encourage and support Carly to develop her leadership in care skills and abilities. Most recently Carly was co-lead on a s42 enquiry, the results of which demonstrated that Hanslope Care’s sensitivity to high risk was justified. Carly also played an integral role in achieving the ‘good’ and ‘excellent’ ratings from the CQC and MKCouncil inspections. Carly is highly organised and thrives on improving systems that support positive outcomes.

Reece’s role compliments Carly’s by supporting her in all aspects of setting up the complex care packages, which requires attention to detail to get just right.

Reece understands more than most that having care can be stressful on primary carers, and as someone with direct experience of this himself he is ideally placed to reassure and advocate.

As part of his mission to get the best for those he supports Reece will lead CHC high-stake funding assessments which require him to be sensitive towards an individual’s complex and personal needs as well as being strong in his knowledge on what services and care package an individual should be able to achieve. Reece and Carly will gather and present the evidence that helps families and their loved one present the most compelling case. Reece has successfully enabled many clients to get the full funding they deserve and need. He is also able to make appeals and evidence reassessments. Resultantly, Reece works in partnership with other professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and District Nurses. He has achieved the NVQ 3 with the view to progress to NVQ 4, which will strengthen his leadership skills. Reece’s favourite part of his role is working with clients with complex needs and being able to support them fully and correctly by applying specialist training and knowledge.

Reece would like to encourage anyone reading this that thinks they might be entitled to funding to get in touch with Hanslope Care.
