Vicky Luck
Vicky came back to Hanslope in 2006 with two small children and a suitcase of clothes;
Her aim was to be financially independent and start her own career.
She has done much to shape Hanslope Care’s approach to people in similar situations.
When dad got sick Vicky found providing his care easy and natural. From that point she knew what she wanted to do and undertook training with Janie Crisp, ex practise nurse. Janie became Vicky’s role model and mentor, and her nursing background has defined for us the essence of the professional Health care Assistant.
Once Hanslope Care achieved registration Vicky undertook her NVQ 3 and 4 in Adult Health and Social care and has led as service manager before stepping down to concentrate on moving and handling training, for which she holds the relevant formal qualification. A course recommended to us by the Willen at home team.
Vicky is now responsible for the safe and effective practise of moving and handling for all, she writes complex moving plans, works alongside occupational therapists, and undertakes personalised risk assessments. Vicky is responsible for implementing our risk management protocol for moving and handling.
